Riverview District: 2023

North Minneapolis has an abrasive history consisting of descrimination and margenalization, resulting in limited riverfront access or appealing public spaces that allow people to engage and create community. Through investing in North Minneapolis and engaging
with North Side Safety Net Interns, key design drivers have been identified. This project serves as a new way of thinking, living and
engaging with West Broadway Street, while enhancing the connection to the Mississippi River. This project will provide riverfront access, a public plaza (accessible by public transportation), and specific attention to creating opportunities for community members. This projects will set the precedent of revitalizing West Broadway Street and pioneer a new way of designing community-based infrastructure.
